This was one of the earliest truly viral films in the pre pubescent days of the internet. It came about as an inititaive at Young & Rubicam. Creatives and suits that hadn't worked too much together were asked to find a new business lead or a creative opportunity and develop some work for them.

Fortunately the suit involved Mellissa Miller had a friend that ran Free FM, the SYdney Gay and Lesbian radio station. They were trying to develop a following for the station to help them in their application for an FM licence.

The making of this ad is without doubt the single weirdest thing I have done in an industry that often throws up surreal challenges. The real story is a long and entertaining tale for another time.

Finally the "Captain Pecker" ran as a cinema ad as part of Sydney's famous Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Enough said.
